As a new blogger, I want my viewers to get to know me a little more than just a small blurb on my about page. It will be a long process to really know me, but I've decided to give it a shot anyway.
So I've decided to post a weekly favorite ranging from Design, to Fashion, to Beauty...and oh so much more! And with each post will be one step closer into me.
As of lately, and from a long break, I've started painting again. Right now I've been working on human emotion and energy. When I first moved to San Francisco, I suddenly changed into a different person. Maybe it was the influence of my partner to strive for life, or maybe it could be just the sudden transition of spontaneously moving from Toronto, Canada to San Francisco.
None the less, I did change within and picked up my brush and started to paint. Boy of boy, did I miss getting dirty especially being a graphic designer for so long I almost forgot what a paint brush was.
Anyway, sometimes I would lose interest and I would stop. So what to we do when we lose interest? Well for me is the desperate search of inspiration, like a rabid wolf salivating for the next hunt.
So usually we look to fellow artists, and we remind ourselves what it was that got us to go in the first place.
I bring to you Janus Miralles.
She is an artist based in the Philippines, using mixed media of digital photography and her creation of various textures.
Need I say more? I find it interesting to see how much drama can be formed by simply changing ones face while adding and removing some elements. Her work to me is some what seductive with the movement and placement of the distinctive texture.
Looking at her work is super motivating!
